I wanted to give you an update. I had my most recent CT and Bone Scans a couple of weeks ago. They showed no new growth of cancer which I love to hear and see. I also had an echocardiogram which came back as good as when I started getting them. It is the maintenance chemo I get every three weeks that is supposed to wear down my heart and why the echocardiogram. All of this made me happy. I thought how wonderful it was to have such a long stint where nothing is happening.
Well, Sunday night I was rolling onto my left leg as I am a side sleeper. I have a large pain threshold, but I was in excruciating pain. I felt where the pain was coming from and felt something hard like metal. I had my husband feel it and he thought the same and made sure I was going to phone the bone doctor the next day. I was blessed to get in right away to the bone doctor on Monday. The x-ray showed the rod fractured or broke and the screw out along with a break to my leg. Not what I wanted to see. The bone doctor said because I had radiation there, my bone is weak. He said that this all happened since January 19th because on those scans he looked at, all was fine. So after my appointment, I had a CT scan to show that which my bone doctor could not see from the scans I got earlier. I also had blood drawn for bloodwork to make sure I am o.k. for surgery. I am supposed to see him before I have surgery to go over the scan and bloodwork. In the meantime, I am waiting for a date for surgery so I can get this taken care of as soon as possible. He mentioned next Tuesday, so I am hoping things can be approved for then. I have been through this twice before so I am not looking forward to it, but looking forward to the completion of the surgery, therapy and recovery. So not an update I love sharing, but I know I have many prayer warriors out there who will be praying for me and I thank anyone ahead of time for doing so. The great thing is having a job that is so flexible. You can all still order through this blog from the shop now button and because it is Sale-A-Bration, a special product for each $50 spent (before tax and shipping) may be selected.
