It has been quite awhile since I sent out an update so I wanted to give you all an update on my cancer journey. I had a recent bone scan. Although there are some things showing up on the scan, they have remained the same since November so nothing has spread and is kept contained which I was thrilled about. What I was hoping to hear. Because my port has been temperamental for some time and was not getting any return for my treatments, I had to have another one put in. I went in for the inpatient operation and they took out my old port and put in another one on my other side. I had my treatment last Thursday and the port worked. It is so nice to get my treatment in my port again. I have small veins and they are so hard to get to, it is much easier when they can use a port.
I had had two iron transfusions over two weeks. My blood work was good and my hemoglobin is back to where it was, which is normal. I liked having it normal again. Friday I had my bone doctor appointment. He said in four to six weeks if there is no progress in the fracture healing he will consider removing interlocks on the distal aspect of my femur. That would require another operation which I am not looking forward to if it happens, but I am ready to do anything to help my fracture heal. He upped my weight bearing to 25% which I thought I was doing, but was only on no weight bearing. So I am still using a walker. He said to up my weight bearing by 25% every two weeks unless it hurts. If it hurts to stop. I still can not use stairs, but am looking forward to the day that I can as my stash of supplies for stamping is in the basement and it is hard to explain to my husband what I need. Funny explaining what a certain item looks like to a non-stamper, but he has been so good looking for things for me.
Until my fracture heals more, I am not driving so depending on people for rides. That is out of my comfort zone but people have been so great about helping out. So all in all everything is doing well.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers, cards and thoughts and everything else I have not included. I really appreciate it. To my prayer warriors, keep on praying for healing, and for God's will to be done throughout this journey. Prayers have gotten me through all of this and will continue. I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day!
