Paisleys & Posies Play
August 23, 2016
Yesterday after swimming, I had time to play with the Paisleys & Posies stamp set from the new Holiday Catalog going live next month. It comes alone and in a bundle and I think you are definitely going to want the bundle. Why? Because it includes framelits that cut out these shapes. So much easier than "fussy cutting" (cutting out by hand). Ever since my pre order came, I have been wanting to play with this set. What fun! The color combinations to be used with this set are endless. I can see a page of black stamped images on a white sheet of card stock ready to color and cut out for a card. Such a wonderful set.
I was trying to select what colors I wanted to use and it was extremely hard. I thought of red and green for Christmas, various colors for Fall or school colors. What I used ended up being something totally different. I used Island Indigo, Calypso Coral and Pool Party.
Dimensions for the card:
Pool Party sheet cut in half at 5 1/2" (folded in half). Corners rounded to add to a soft feel.
Whisper White Thick Cardstock cut at 4" by 5 1/4". Corners rounded.
The bow builder punch was used for the bow. Pearl accents were added. Remember to stamp on a piercing mat so you get a professional image. Affectionately Yours Washi Tape was used to look like ribbon across the card.
The best part is that if you look in stores and catalogs, paisleys are all over. Extremely trendy right now. Not that I have ever been a trend setter, but I really love it that Stampin' Up!® does keep up with trends. It is nice to be trendy in making my cards.
