Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop "All you need is Love"
January 27, 2016
Welcome to this blog hop. Since this month's theme is "All you need is Love", I wanted to make things I can give as a gift. I love giving gifts and since I absolutely love paper crafting, I wanted to combine the two. You will see two projects, but so many ideas may bloom out of these two ideas. Ideas galore can be extended from these two particular projects depending on the holiday or occassion. I made earrings and a pin for a sweater to showcase for this hop.
For the above pin, I purchased a wood heart from a large box store. As long as you have a wood heart it should be fine. You cut a heart just a little larger than the wood heart out of designer paper and adhere the paper on the wood heart (I used the green multipurpose liquid glue). Then file the excess off (I used a nail file only because a nail file was handy). You can use fine sand paper or anything that may be used to file off the excess paper.
You will not believe how extremely simple this project is. I would recommend spraying the paper with a spray sealant to make it stay nice during rain, hot weather or other elements. I decorated the paper covered wood heart and put a pin back on the back using jewelry glue. That is it. Ready to give!
The above post pierced earrings were made using a 1/2" circle punch for the base. You punch 3-5 circles out of cardstock. Glue the circles together (one on top of the other) and let dry. You punch the tiny hearts using the Confetti Hearts Border Punch on paper. Again 3-5 layers glued together. After dry you adhere the layers of hearts on the layers of circles and let dry. Spray with a sealant for protection. Glue an earring back to the back of each of the circles using jewelry glue and let dry. Now you are ready to give as a gift.
