I am so excited for this week's Weekly Deals!!! Enjoy!
Today is a deviation from cards or packaging ideas but born out of necessity. I have so many pairs of earrings that I can not fit them all in my jewelry case. Also when they are in my case it is sometimes hard to see and select what I want to wear. I was about to go to a hardware store to get a screen to put in a photo frame to put my earrings in. I was straightening my craft room when I happened upon this office paper holder. I was not using it so decided to repurpose it for my earring holder. All I had to do was tie a ribbon to each of the ends at the opening of the holder. I tied a bow and it was perfect for hanging! I may add some hooks at the bottom for necklaces and eventually I may spray paint it depending on the colors I decorate with. For now it is just being used for what I intended and I am so happy to have a home for these earrings. Thank you for stopping by. If you do not want to miss any of my posts, subscribe to the right.
Today I wanted to show a super quick idea to boost a pound cake presentation. I like to have designer series papers on hand for moments like these. I was out of town yesterday and on my way back home I stopped at a Fresh Market in Peachtree City, Georgia. We do not have one in Newnan and I absolutely LOVE that store. The fresh produce is wonderful and I always buy things I seldom see at my regular grocery stores. I saw this Triple Berry Pound cake and thought it would be great for something I go to or for someone. I am resisting the temptation to eat it. It was already in a cello bag and I did not want to re wrap it so I kept it in the bag and decorated the outside. Really all it was was a piece of designer series paper cut off to make a band. Any width would do from two inches wide up by 12" long. I then wrapped the paper around the cake and adhered it to the bottom. I used some burlap ribbon to give it added texture and taped it to the bottom as well. I used a small piece of ribbon to tie the top. Super, super easy which I love because using this technique you can run out the door in no time. Thank you for stopping by!
This is my second post so I could show you what I made today. Since I live in Georgia and pretend to be a "Georgia Peach" (I actually grew up in Illinois), you can not believe how excited I got when I saw this set in the new catalog. I had to have this set if only for this one stamp. Peaches are ripe in Georgia right now and since it is just my husband and I here for now, I wanted to give some of ours away. Even though I have the basket die to make my own basket, I wanted to repurpose a basket I had. I made a tag using the Tangerine Tango cardstock and marker. I used a Garden Green marker for the stem. I have stamped some other tags just like this to go with some other Georgia peach items you will more than likely see in the future. There are so many useful stamps in this set. Thanks for stopping by today and if you haven't subscribed to see more of my creations, please do at the right of this post.
Thank you for coming to phyllisstamps for the Creative Inking Blog Hop! This month we are showing our favorite stamp set from the catalog. I have to admit that this was a hard one because I have many favorites. I selected Garden In Bloom. I love it because it goes with my favorite Designer Series Paper English Garden.
The Garden In Bloom words are great to add to the bakers box framelits die. I have wonderful tea bags inside the box for a special friend and these words are perfect for her!
This is another bakers box using the Garden In Bloom set. The flowers can be two step stamping but I colored this flower in using blushing bride. Again the words in this stamp set are perfect for my friend and she adores dark chocolate. Guess what is in the box? Her favorite dark chocolate! I used the Deco Labels framelits and honeycomb folder for the tags.
This set is perfect for cards!!! I used White Perfect Accents to pop the centers a bit. Thank you for stopping by. Please subscribe to my blog at the right and continue on to hop and see the treasure trove of talent from the other great demonstrators in this hop!
Here is the second card I made using the June Paper Pumpkin. Again I used everything from the kit but the White Perfect Accents. I love having the accents at hand for many of my stamping uses. Easy and gives it something more. Really though the Paper Pumpkin kit this month has everything I needed and really I did not have to add a thing. I deviated a bit from the instructions that came with it using the small flower stamped for the background, moving the white square to the right side and rearranging the decorations around just a bit. I hope you will stop by tomorrow if you have not yet subscribed to this blog feed (to the right). Tomorrow is when the Creative Inking Blog Hop takes place. Come here first and then you can hop forwards and backwards to various demonstrator blogs to see their creations. It is a wealth of talent and you will not want to miss it. Thank you for stopping by!
Today my husband came into our house beaming with the mail. He said "you are going to be thrilled. Paper Pumpkin came today." I have certainly trained my man well. He knows how I enjoy getting my special box in the mail. It is such a surprise each time. I never know what is coming but most of the time I am thrilled. Once I had the box in my hands I had to play with it. I wanted to deviate a bit to show you a different version of the card that I made. I used everything from the kit except the white dot embellishments we now carry. A little different although using the same theme. I did cut off the top of the smaller white card on top 1/4" which made it look better for my version. Tomorrow I have another Paper Pumpkin card I changed up a little from the directions. Come and see it. Saturday you will not want to miss stopping by because the blog hop takes place. You can see what I have and then hop forwards or backwards to see what other wonderful demonstrators have to show. It is always a treat to hop (even for me). This month we are showing new products from the new catalog. If you want to sign up for my blog feeds you can subscribe to the right and you will not miss a thing. Thank you for stopping by.
Today continues the simple English Garden Designer Series Paper Cards where I make 72 cards out of one package of the paper. Again each sheet is cut 5 1/4" by 4" so that six pieces come from one sheet of paper. I absolutely love the top card because it would be great for either man or woman. No fuss because the background paper really says it all. I love the background and will be using so much of this paper in the future. The bottom card to me is cheery. It makes me smile with the bright colors and again the design of the paper. It is a very happy paper. I think it would put a smile on the recipient's face. I so love playing with the new ribbon used on it. It is extremely easy to tie and has such a nice texture. My husband is a pilot on a trip. This gives me a few days to create this week. I love having him here as he is a joy, but I have fun also creating while he is away. Stay tuned this week for other posts and a blog hop coming on the 20th. You will not want to miss the hop so make sure and subscribe to this blog to the right and you will not miss the hop or any of my projects. Thank you for stopping by! Have a lovely day!
